Text entered in a search box is sent to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the request and supplies its results. We do not retain or log those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us, the message and return address may be kept long enough to respond and maintain the exchange. We do not disclose the message beyond our organization unless the law requires it.
Data We Gather Automatically

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Rockingham County Criminal History does not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It publishes general directions to the Clerk of Superior Court, Civil Process & Records, the North Carolina SBI Criminal Information and Identification Section, NCDAC, and the North Carolina Sex Offender and Public Protection Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information sent through a tool is governed by that company's own privacy policy, retention practices, and sharing rules. We do not control those practices. Review the provider's policy before sending a search.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to Rockingham County offices, North Carolina courts, SBI, NCDAC, the state registry, or outside services. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy terms apply. Advertising partners may also use their own systems to measure activity across websites.

Rights can differ by residence and applicable law. North Carolina's Public Records Law, Chapter 132, governs records held by public agencies, including access limits for criminal investigation material under G.S. 132-1.4. It does not turn this private site into a government records custodian. For data held by us, a visitor may request access, correction, deletion, or an available processing opt-out, subject to legal and operational limits.
